The shape of the clouds

05/12/2019 - Events

A collective exhibition with Olmo AMATO, Elizabeth ARO, Massimiliano GATTI, Caterina GIANSIRACUSA, Luca GRIMALDI, Alessandra MAIO curated by Irene Finiguerra will be inaugurated on Thursday 5 December 2019 at the spaces of BI-BOx Art Space in Biella.

What is the shape of the clouds? There are those who see faces, who shape animals, in reality the clouds, studied in the nineteenth century by Luke Howard, are to be grouped only in three categories: simple, intermediate and complex.

Yet the clouds with their lightness have always been a great stimulus for both scientific and poetic imagination.

Our eyes rise to the sky and as the clouds change, we transform and dream with open eyes. Cirrus, nimbus, mounds that “come and go / sometimes stop” (De Andrè) are nothing but water in suspension, masses in transformation that disobey gravity.

We look at the works of the six artists on display with the same amazement of the children who lose themselves in the game of clouds and we will know how to capture beauty by lifting ourselves from our daily lives.
