Reda supports the candidacy of Biella

That of wool is a culture deeply rooted in the craftsmanship of local artisans“, reads first of all on the Reda site that dedicated a page to Biella’s candidacy for Unesco Creative City within the Crafts & Folk Art cluster.

“Reda has chosen to produce its own fabrics in the Croce Mosso factory, in the Biellese hills, directly following the entire production chain from sheep breeding to the realization of the finished product. […] That of wool is a culture deeply rooted in the manual skills of local artisans, who have always contributed to the success of Reda’s fabrics. […]

In fact, Biella represents an important stage of the so-called Wool Road that crossed medieval and modern Europe and that today connects the city to Australia and New Zealand, where sheep are raised.

Biella has in its DNA the drive for innovation, experimentation and manufacturing and artistic creativity that make it a privileged pole of attraction and a lively center full of inspiration for the textile world.

Reda can only support his candidacy for UNESCO Creative City and continue his commitment to the promotion and enhancement of the territory. a territory that has given so much to the history and heritage of the company and with which, even today, the historic wool factory maintains a very close relationship of mutual exchange “.

The FILA history exhibition arrives in Korea

After the transition to the Milan Triennale, the exhibition, organized by the FILA Museum Foundation, was inaugurated on 17 May 2019, and it is held in Seoul in Korea.

The exhibition that tells more than a hundred years of Fila’s history with drawings, photographs, advertising pages, clothing and shoes that have become cult objects, after the great success achieved in Italy, moves to the home of President Gene Yoon.

A century of history that contains many records and that has made the red-blue effe brand a symbol in the world of fashion and sport, with respect for diversity and change.

In these 108 years, FILA has won many challenges by creating true icons of the world of sport and fashion that have triggered new trends. Based on this story and its realization, FILA becomes metaphorically a prism capable of showing the various colors thanks to the wavelength of light. FILA becomes a symbol of respect for diversity and change and hopes that this will be a strong inspiration for everyone.

The exhibition tells the story of FILA from its origins to the present thanks to the archive material of the ‘FILA Museum’ Foundation, the curator of the exhibition is Annalisa Zanni who will be present throughout the period, giving voice and strength to the story of FILA and the Biellese tradition.

About 60 images show the style from the 60s to today, spirit and aesthetics, as well as the driving force of the brand. Technological innovation reflects the history of fashion and society through the collections that have enjoyed worldwide fame.

Next Generation, Please!

From 23 to 25 May 2019, in the spaces of the Pistoletto Foundation, the initiative will be held which aims to implement the network of relations between the protagonists already active in the construction of virtuous and transformative proposals in the world of education, training and of work.

Debates, workshops and lecturers – involving around a hundred local, national and international professionals – that will focus on the theme Future of Education and Future of Work in Europe: through this series of meetings and protagonists the contents of the forum will be articulated Next Generation, Please !, scheduled in Biella from Thursday 16 to Saturday 18 May.

For over twenty years Cittadellarte has placed at the center of its mission the development of educational practices in which art plays a fundamental role in activating socially responsible transformations in the territories. As part of this work, in the last two years, the Biella area has actively collaborated in the development of the Next Generation, Please! Project, an educational program shared with important European cultural centers (such as the Pompidou Center in Paris and the Palais des Beaux-Arts Brussels Bozar), with teachers, artists and students from two French and Belgian high schools, supported by the contribution of the European Union.

One of the keys in the execution of the work and in the relative contents of the program will be, once again, the United Nations Agenda 2030: a relationship with the SDGs ‘sugellata’ also by ASVIS, which has included the event in the program of initiatives of the 2019 Sustainable Development Festival.

“Creative City UNESCO” candidate connecting rod: the challenge is digital

BTREES and Orangepix support the candidacy that is becoming a real territorial marketing campaign.

Biella’s candidacy in the Unesco Creative Cities Network has immediately aroused attention throughout the textile and fashion world.

Communication is a fundamental component of a candidacy that aims to impact the economy of a small town in order to position it in an innovative way compared to the past, albeit in continuity with all the flow of creativity from which it is fed.

From yarns to creativity: stories of entrepreneurs and of an entire population that is generating an articulated and composed knowledge of a single cultural fabric.

So they joined in the desire to give strength to the candidacy the New Media Agency BTREES, for the part dedicated to the Social Media, and the Web Agency OrangePix, regarding the website biellacittàcreativa.it.

A support that has been offered for free by the Biella agencies and that is entering more and more alive through the current photographic competition developed in collaboration with the Digital Agenda of Biella.

Path 2020

All roads lead to the “Third Paradise“: this could be the slogan to describe a visionary and simple project at the same time, but capable of uniting nature and culture by focusing on the development of the Biella area.

Presented this morning an itinerary that goes from Biella to the Conca di Oropa, touching on the main points of interest in the area: Cittadellarte, the historic center of Biella, the medieval village of Piazzo, the urban park of Bellone, the Burcina Park, the Sanctuary and the Sacred Mount of Oropa, and then the whole Conca, up to Mount Camino.

It is a ‘slow’ route (passable on foot or by mountain bike), almost all on paths (with short stretches on secondary roads), which connects the main tourist attractions of Biella through a series of intermediate stages, all with tourist infrastructures and connected by public transport, with multiple possibilities of connection and exchange with other existing routes.

In reality, the Path 2020 is already largely there: it is a matter of restoring existing paths and paths, with small interventions for recovering abandoned or difficult stretches, and linking them together in a unitary path, adequately marked. A path that, in view of the great event of the Centenary Coronation and the presentation of the restored New Basilica that will involve Oropa in 2020, can become an alternative access route to Santuario, in full harmony with the spirit of the event and with the tendency towards the rediscovery of the “paths”.

City of lands

The second edition of City of lands. Ronco and the Biellese for ceramics.

City of lands starts from the long tradition of the terracotta artisan production, the so-called “bielline“. The presence in Ronco of the Ecomuseum of Terracottas is the starting point to build a path that includes part of the Biella area, in order to combine a ancient knowledge with the most innovative experiences of contemporary artists.

On 18 and 19 May 2019, Good morning Ceramic takes place throughout Italy, the event that has made the art of modeling, baking and painting clay, the most joyful and colorful spring weekend.

It is an ideal journey, but not only, through the hand-made Italy, the art shops and artist’s ateliers, the creativity that renews tradition, the elderly masters and young designers. Good morning Ceramic is also an experiential journey that brings out the pleasure of expressing oneself and doing: working with clay stimulates sensations and emotions, it is therapeutic.

The Biellese edition is distributed in three municipalities: Ronco Biellese, Graglia and Sordevolo, and is presented both as an exhibition of ceramic creations, and as a photographic exhibition, offering the public different possibilities to approach such an ancient artistic technique.

All three exhibitions will open on Saturday 18 May and will be open to the public every Sunday until 16 June 2019 from 15.30 to 18.30 or by appointment.
